Internship Work -Timucuan Preserve-

During the Spring of 2009, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work along side National Park rangers to create large format posters and informational panels, signage and an educational DVD about the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Jacksonville, Florida. Mastering the NPS identity and design standards was imperative.

Informational poster for the Ribault Monument, Fort Caroline area in Jacksonville, FL

A historic etching and concise text are used to visually tell the story of the events that let to the elevation of the Ribault monument at the site.
Cedar Point Map

Hikers routinely get lost while exploring the Cedar Point recreational area because of lack of appropriate signage.
A series of maps to be placed along the trails were created to help the park visitors navigate through the area.
Informational wayside panels about American Beach in Amelia Island Florida

One panel talks about the history of the place while the other one compares then and now.
Informational wayside panel about sugar production by slaves at the Kingsley Plantation, Jacksonville, FL

This panel about sugar production had to match an exhibit already in place at the Kingsley Plantation.
Extensive research was done in order to accurately match the colors, fonts and grid layout of the overall exhibit.
Educational DVD

The logo for the film project, the cover for the DVD case and its menus, and a customized YouTube channel.
The logo was inspired by the mount of shells left by the Timucua Indians. Images that reflect on the rich history and natural resources of the preserve are used on the cover and menus.
